The price of a pre-birth kid at the time of deposit will be 'locked in'.

Purchasing Kids/Goats
Our goats are registered through ADGA - American Dairy Goat Association.
Registration papers will be mailed separately to owners for kids/goats being shipped via air or ground transport.
Kids leaving the comforts of home can be a stressful event. Signs of stress may be diarrhea, sniffles or coughing. Their little systems need therapeutic support during this time. Please keep support products on hand to address any discomforts your kid may have.
We do as much as we can to ensure our kids transition to their new home will be a happy and healthy one.
All kids receive a Multi-min, B12 and Bo-Se injection. Kids are de-wormed, disbudded and tattooed. Prior to departing, kids will receive a dose of Probiotics to keep their tummy happy.
We're here for support and welcome your calls. Our kids are important to us!
Purchasing Goats from our Sales Page
Should you wish to purchase an animal from our sales page, we require half the purchase price as a non-refundable deposit. Other exceptions/arrangements may be agreed upon.
All goats must be paid in full and depart our farm within 30 days. Should the need arise to hold an animal beyond 30 days but not to exceed 60 days, a daily boarding fee of $2.50 will be applied. All monies received are non-refundable should the purchaser default.
If a bred Doe left in our care beyond 30 days gives birth, we retain the right to keep said kids as payment for Pregnant Doe Care, Kidding out, caring for her kids and boarding fee's.
As a Breeder, we retain the right to issue a DOE ONLY service memo on any or all bred Doe's from our herd. We ONLY allow exceptional bucks from exceptional Dams to proudly carry our herd name.
Should the need arise for Carrie'd Away Critters to cancel the sale of a goat, proper notice will be given to the purchaser. All payments and deposits will be refunded to purchaser unless said purchaser chooses to transfer payments and deposits to different goat.
It is important to us that our goats are sound and ready to depart when THEY are ready. Therefore, they will depart when we believe they are ready to do so.
If you're interested in an animal and have a financial plan in mind, please let us know! We are flexible.
Transporting Goats
When considering a goat from our herd, please consider how you will get your goat home. We are happy to assist with arrangements but ultimately, it is the buyer's responsibility.
When shipping a goat via air, you are responsible for the purchase of an approved pet carrier, health certificate(s), flight costs and mileage to the vet and airport. We are happy to assist with some of the airline/transport arrangements. A variation of dates and flight times would be very appreciated.
Herd Health
Carrie'd Away Critters Toggenburg Goats are tested annually for CAE only. We retain a CAE Negative Herd. Please check with your states required tests prior to shipping animals. Additional test are at the expense of the buyer. We do not test animals under 4 months of age. All animals being shipped must have a Health Certificate before leaving our farm. Once the animal departs our farm, it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure the animal is properly cared for during transport. We will not be held responsible should an animal become ill or injured during transport.
CAE Prevention: Our Doe's are tested annually, usually prior to kidding season. We do not heat treat colostrum or milk. We want our kids to receive as much nutrition as possible from mother's milk. If the buyer wishes to have colostrum and milk heat treated, this must be specified prior to birth and the kid must be paid for in full.
CL: We do not believe in testing for CL, nor does our Vet. From research conducted as well as others experiences, we have concluded that CL testing is a waste of time and money. The only accurate CL test is a fluids test drawn from the cyst on the animal itself.
If a purchaser wishes to have a CL test, it will be at the purchaser's expense.
Johne's Disease: We rarely run this test as it is incredibly inaccurate. The animal can be tested at the expense of the purchaser.
TB: The animal can be tested at the expense or the purchaser.
Brucellosis: The animal can be tested at the expense of the purchaser.
Guarantees
We will not guarantee milk production, height, weight or the absence of scurs.
We do not guarantee the fertility of Doe's unless Hermaphroditism becomes apparent as the animal matures.
A Doe sold "as bred" is not guaranteed to be pregnant, just that she received normal service from a buck.
We will not guarantee the outcome of a bred Doe sold prior to kidding. Doe's can easily abort when stressed.
Transporting a bred Doe from Carrie'd Away Critters property to her new home is a risk the buyer agrees to when purchasing the Doe.
Kidding issues do arise and while we are willing to work with our buyers, we assume no responsibility for the outcome of kidding.
We guarantee the fertility of our bucks. After reaching one year of age, a buck should be capable of servicing a Doe.
Should the buck prove to be a non-breeder, the buyer shall notify us within 60 days from the first time the buck was used for service. The buck would need to be at least one year of age, the buyer shall provide sufficient proof, such as a statement/document from a veterinarian that said buck is sterile.
The buyer is expected to provide appropriate care and feed for their animals. If the animal has been neglected, our guarantee is void.
We have the option of making a satisfactory exchange or refunding money. In no case shall we be responsible for more than the original selling price of the animal.
Animals that are exchanged are done so at the purchaser's expense.
We require the original registration papers be returned in an animal exchange or refund.
We do not guarantee any animals that are sold without registrations papers.
Any further guarantees are neither expressed nor implied. We have no idea the sort of care or treatment our goats receive once the leave our possession. We only hope they get the very best of care and love they deserve.
Therefore, you are responsible for their health and well being.
We love our goats and hope you do too!
All goats, big and small must be paid for in full before departing Carrie'd Away Critters property.
